Welcome to the study of the History of Venezuela. In addition to being the country we all are living in at present, Venezuela has an extremely fascinating history in its own right and would be of interest to anyone who wants to understand the progression of events that has helped to shape the history of the Western Hemisphere and global events beyond Venezuela’s borders.
Venezuelan History studies the unique events, philosophies, and people of Venezuela, as well as its contributions to the development of the Western Hemisphere and the world. It focuses on the country’s geographical features and their impact on people’s lives, the events and ideas that led up to the origins of Venezuela as an independent country, its unique legal foundations, its cultural and ethnic diversity, its economic development, the conflicts and wars it has experienced, its relationships with other countries, its important personalities and leaders, its arts and literature, and its cultural and political evolution in the modern age.
